$10m Community Centre and Library for the City of Walkerville
RECENT PROJECTS
• Civil and structural engineering in association with Darengineer
for an $90m warehouse development project. The project included a
three storey office building, substantial warehouses, cranes, industrial
pavements and large civil works including stormwater treatment
facilities
• Civil engineering for a 91 allotment subdivision at Aldinga Beach
• Civil and Structural engineering in association with Darengineer
for the City of Walkerville’s new $10m Civic Centre and Library.
• $40 million redevelopment that changed the old Colonial Mutual
Life building into a 4.5-star hotel.
• Design of all Civil and Structural aspects for the $5m Port Road
Medical Centre development.
• Structural review for earthquake assessment including preliminary
strengthening design for an existing 20 Storey CBD Building
• Design of 8km of Haul Roads at a significant Australian mine site
• Civil engineering design of bitumen roads for 6.9km of highway
and a separate engagement for 5km of highway for a District Council.
The highways are heavily used by B-Double trucks and Road Trains for
agricultural purposes.

APPOINTMENT
MLEI are proud to announce
that Tuan Nguyen has been
appointed as an Associate
Director. Tuan has 16 years of
experience in varying engineering
work environments, including
working within Government,
Local Government and private
enterprise environments. Tuan’s
key experience includes working
on multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects comprising design,
construction phase management and project/contract administration.
He has detailed knowledge of highway planning and engineering,
municipal engineering, traffic engineering and land developments.
STAFF
The technical team at MLEI consists of 18 members with
experience ranging from graduate level to 40 years. Our vibrant
and enthusiastic team are passionate about achieving the best
outcomes for our clients. We draw considerable satisfaction from
providing innovative, cost effective and efficient engineering design
solutions. The firm have a strong focus on the continued professional
development of staff and is a CPD partner with the Institute of
Engineers Australia. The firm is also a proud member of Consult
Australia (formerly ACEA). MLEI is an ISO 9001 endorsed company
for quality management. The Company is pre-qualified to provide
consultant services to the South Australian Government through the
Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI).
MLEI was proud to be the civil and structural engineering company
in a team submission that recently won Australia’s first zero carbon
challenge. The competition was to design a zero carbon, sustainable
house. The award of this completion is a good demonstration of
MLEI’s ability to innovate, collaborate with other design professionals
and provide state of the art engineering advice.
