      If you are going to US, V Australia is also a very good choice.(so I've heard) I agree QR is one of the best airline in the world, but I think I will try to use QR in a trip to Europe rather than US.

      I went to Europe twice, first trip was with BA/QF, the second trip was with QF/KL/AF.  I have a lot of respect for QF on unltr-long haul flight, I also enjoyed the flight on KL and AF.  I have no hesitation to use QF on long haul flight.  However, I would like to try some other airlines.

      I am off to Europe this Thursday on EY.  I have heard a lot of good stories about EY.  Looking forward to that trip.  

      I will add you after I get more stable access to internet, my work computer does not have QQ.

      I am delighted to meet a plane spotter.  I gathered QR is your favourite airline?  Which airline you've used so far in your opinion is the best?

      Thank you for sharing. V Australia is a new airlines and operates a fleet with new 777-300ER. However, we can get cheaper air-tickets from some American airlines, especially Delta 达美 (around $1,000 for return tickets, very reasonable price).  I may fly to the US from Hong Kong. I’m thinking about Asiana- 5 stars airlines.

      BA and QF’s services should be the worst among the airlines of One World. KL/AF is a very average airlines based on my knowledge. Your enjoyable experience with KL/AF is wonderful. I’m a frequent user of Qantas, my experience with QF is disappointing, I got a lot of points from QF, I’m thinking about to use them to upgrade to Business Class of next journey with QF.

      I’m very glad to meet you here. I’m extremely jealous of your coming Etihad journey to Europe.  Hope to read your story with Etihad soon. Just one question, are you flying with EY’s A330, A340 or B773ER?

      Malaysia Airlines is my top choice, I flied around 50,000 kms with B772 of MH in 2010. MH gave me a free business ticket from ADL to KUL, even my points is a bit lower for upgrading. Cheap price, good price,free accommodation ( I got one night free accommodation at 5-star Pan Pacific Hotel, hahaha)-good value.  I haven’t flied with JAL, ANA and EVA, and they are very attractive airlines for me.  By the way, I really like A340, especially the all business seats SQ A340-500.

      I would disagree with you in terms of service of QF/BA.  I could simply had better luck on my experience with QF and BA, but that was several flights from Australia to EU, Australian to Singapore and a range of internal flight.  I agree QF particularly had been putting on the spot light by media recently over its safety.  I believe this media attention was generated due to Qantas' out source of mechanics.  After all, as the second oldest continuing operating airline in the world, QF still holds an amazing record; its recent incident on A380 over Singapore is giving me more confident to fly with this carrier.  My opinion of QF really only changed on my trip to EU from Australia, I have found its heavy emphasis on safety.  The most memorable part of that flight was when the Captain of the flight did a walk around of the cabin during the night and reminded few passengers who were sleeping without their seat belt to bulk up.  

      With KL/AF, I thought they could handle the snow storm in Europe during last Christmas bit better than what they had done.  However, I was surprised with the service by their cabin crew during the flight.  On the return flight from Paris, their cabin crew went extra mile to get an Australian family with baby a more comfortable seats.  Once again, I might just be on the right flight.

      I would love to try ANA and Eva air, I believe ANA could be a 4+ star airline.  I don’t think I will fly any Chinese carrier on any international flight in the next five years (apart from Hainan airline).  My experience with all the Chinese carriers had been disappointing.  My partner even had an in flight emergency with China Southern airline.  Our disappointment came where the airline poorly handled the passengers after the incident.  Its FA were simply not present upon the flight returned to SYD, it was the SYD airport staffs who organized all the alternative flights and hotels.  My only experience on an international flight business came with Air China, again, I had bad experiences on both return international flight.  All the flights were badly delayed and the airline offered no explanation.  On the other hand, Singapore airline even explained and apologized for a 5 minutes delay on one of its flight.

      If every travel to WA, you should try its local airline Skywest, I was surprised the level of service they offer on a short hop.  

      I would recommend V Australia, particular its Business class product, it maintained the level of service with its cousin, Virgin Atlantic.  I do believe it is a 4 star airline.  The economy fares can be cheap as $800-$1000 if you book early.  

      I with be on an A345 from MEL to ABU, A346 on ABU to LHR, A332 on CDG to ABU, and A345 from ABU to MEL.  I have used A345 from EK from the past, it was one of my best experience in the air.  I am quite excited with the upcoming A346, I never flown on this model and this is the last of the A340 model I’ve yet to experience.  I was lucky enough to experience A342 from MU when it’s first started China –Australia route.  
      I do like A340 series; I still somewhat prefer 4 engines over just 2.  However, most airlines around the world may hold different views.  I really enjoyed my experience on A380, I hope this will be a successful aircraft.  

      Lastly, Asiana-a 5 stars airline, this has become my dream airline in some way.  I have never heard any negative story from this airline.  The culture behind this airline and ANA will take other airlines years to build.  This is surely an airline on my card.

      新加坡航空-Singapore Airlines
      第一次出国,2005年2月15号,上海浦东-新加坡-阿德莱德,就是搭乘的新加坡航空,习惯了国内航空公司的737,A320这些小飞机和低质的服务,实在对新加坡航空赞不绝口.当年新加坡航空在阿德莱德到新加坡航线上还是使用的波音777-200.
      2005年还飞了次新加坡航空上海-新加坡-阿德莱德-新加坡-香港,再次乘坐是07年8月和老婆一起从香港到悉尼,2人来回才11000多港币,确实是相当的便宜,只是回程想改换A380航班,因为那个月正好是A380全球首航新加坡-悉尼航线,无奈机位的原因,直到09年12月才第一次飞A380从新加坡到香港,而且坐了个经济舱中最宽敞的位置,偶不停的看,不停地拍照,搞得我旁边的德国大叔很纳闷,问问才知道他基本每个星期都搭这个航班.仔细回想下,A380真的没有什么特别感觉,而且A380的外型并不好看,显得很臃肿,远逊于A340甚至747-400。不过真的是灰常灰常大,有次在悉尼机场从International Terminal到Qantas Terminal,当摆渡车从澳洲航空的A380开过的时候,那个巨无霸的感觉真让人震撼。去年还飞了一次阿德莱德-新加坡-香港来回,现在新加坡航空在adl-sin的航线上使用新的a333,坐位非常舒服,而且个人电视的屏幕很大。去年飞了次华航台北-悉尼的,也是同样的a333,舒服程度就大打折扣。

      新加坡航空从服务上当然还是No.1,而且空乘都非常友好,有求必应,因为偶特别喜欢吃飞机上的小面包,每次都要2个,花生也要2袋,每次都很nice的给了我,形成鲜明对比的就是Qantas澳洲航空,等下再说.但是可能是搭乘得实在太多(应该超过10个航班拉),似乎少了几分新意.没有办法,飞友都是这样.

      马来西亚航空-Malaysia Airlines

      第一次回国,2005年6月, 阿德莱德-吉隆坡-广州,来澳洲已经6年多了,回国次数差不多也十多次拉,但是每次回国都很激动,第一次更是这样,马来西亚航空虽然整体还不错,但是绝对不是五星级的,特别是有些中国航线,比如吉隆坡到广州的A320飞机,不但旧,而且挤.今年2月在隔了4年半后再次搭乘了马来西亚航空,因为价格实在太便宜,香港来回阿德莱德,带税才5300人民币,就价钱来说,服务是很超值的,只是不习惯的是菜谱也没有纸质的,都显示在个人小屏幕上.
      去年飞了差不多50000公里的马航,而且都是777-200,最有意思的一次是去年11月底回国,我在gate前登机,有点累,居然睡着了,但是马航的工作人员过来给我换了张business class的boarding pass,我都奇怪,我的分不够升舱,而且她们怎么认识我的呢。从此对马航的印象超级超级好。而且马航都给吉隆坡过夜转机乘客安排酒店免费住宿,好的是5星级酒店,差的是招待所,我都住过,不要钱的东西,要求不能太多的。呵呵

      国泰航空-Cathay Pacific Airways

      有很多人不知道国泰的英文意思,Cathay是古代欧洲对中国的称呼,多年成立国泰航空的几位前辈想取个特别的名字,所以有了国泰.3次国泰经历,2次香港-悉尼,香港-阿德莱德A330,1次西贡-香港A340的飞行经历,感觉国泰的空乘都比较看不起大陆的乘客,微笑起来特别不真诚,所以CX我基本不喜欢,那个从西贡到香港,全飞机就一台个人娱乐系统不能用,就是偶的,呵呵.而且国泰的价格也不便宜,特价也不多,自然不在我的首选的前几位.不过A340的飞机真的是非常漂亮,很修长,感觉很有气质,可惜现在很多航空公司都在慢慢淘汰A340,以后坐的机会肯定越来越少了.

      南方航空-China Southern Airlines

      国内坐南航实在多的已经忘记次数了,国际航班倒只坐过一次,2006年6月悉尼-广州,一飞机基本都是中国乘客,个人电视没有,吃的东西也很糟糕,空姐服务态度超差,见了老外就笑得象见了再生父母一样,那些女孩子,也没办法,要文化没文化,要素质没素质,就只能这样拉.飞机还晚点2个小时,幸好接下一程的广州-长沙也晚点2个小时.个人非常不推荐这家航空公司,不知道天合联盟怎么把这个垃圾航空也收进去了.当然,南航空经常在广州到新加坡,吉隆坡,曼谷这样的航线上推出1000多人民币往返的,还是可以考虑的,飞行时间也就4-5个小时,咬咬牙可以忍受的~~

      越南航空-Vietnam Airlines

      估计这个航空公司,大家坐过的真还不多,我个人还满喜欢的,也满喜欢这个国家,可能是很多年前读安妮宝贝的<<蔷薇岛屿>>的影响.不过我受了我一 辈子坐飞机最大惊吓,从香港到西贡,飞机感觉直着掉下去几百米,失重的感觉现在还记忆由心,其实也不怪越航,只能怪台风,第2天香港机场就因为这场台风关闭了1天.2007年1月悉尼飞西贡,因为naati考试通过的原因,自己心情也大靓,自然回家坐越航也对这家航空倍增好感。还记得那天下午哼着小调从City 的 York St 的越南航空办公室换票出来,带着那种闲适的心情徜徉悉尼街头的情景.回来的时候越航777-200上坐率基本没到一半,我一个人独享3把座位,都可以拼个简易的business class拉,可惜本人从来在飞机上就基本睡不着,呵呵.最爱的就是越航的飞机上的一种凉拌面,好好吃,后来在越南饭店也一直没有找到.

      大韩航空- Korean Air

      这个估计坐过的朋友也不多吧,呵呵.偶香港经首尔仁川来回悉尼一次,4段航班.2007年6月20号晚上和朋友喝酒醉到一塌糊涂,第2天早上被朋友送到机场还一直吐,那是拿到pr后8天回国,呵呵.最诧异的就是香港到韩国的航班都是747-400jumbo jet,在韩国到悉尼的航班则都是小一号的777-200,可能还是上座率的航班,如果要转搭第2天大韩的航班,大韩会安排5星级Hyatt酒店,还有免费的自助餐,可惜本来的航班只要等 1个多小时,所以没有享受到.大韩航空的冰激凌都是哈根达斯,呵呵.但是在悉尼到首尔仁川的超过10个小时的航班则确实无聊,没有个人电视,只有几本韩文杂志.不过韩航的空姐真是灰常灰常的养眼

      澳洲航空-Qantas

      Qantas是"Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services"的缩写,这个也是澳洲航空的前身,2008年12月-2009年1月,以前从来没有坐过qantas的我创下了3次阿德莱德来回悉尼,布里斯班,2次澳洲来回中国的记录,我的qantas frequent flyer的分数一个多月多了2万多分.Qantas服务真的是差,多要个面包都说是根据人数配好的,不能多给,有个从上海到悉尼的航班上,一个50岁的华裔空乘还和我用北京腔说qantas吃的多么好,太多了,太浪费了,我晕到,qantas吃的东西又少又差.最近qantas安全事故频发,不过qantas的飞行员飞行水平应该完全值得信赖,前年qantas747-400的飞行员居然把机身出现一个大洞的飞机安全迫降马尼拉,相当的牛.

      新西兰航空-Air New Zealand

      之前对这个新航充满期待,和老婆买过阿德莱德经奥克兰到香港的来回票,居然最后不让我老婆上飞机,因为那时候她拿的是配偶临居签证,不是永居的到新西兰转机都要签证,我问怎么当时买票的时候新西兰航空的网站没有提醒,新西兰航空的工作人员居然对我回了句It’s your responsibility to check New Zealand’s immigration regulations.我晕,只能认栽,机票损失900多澳元,2人又花了差不多4000澳元临时买了qantas的票.新西兰航空的广告语是-Air New Zealand Amazing Journey,确实是amazing,花了差不多1000澳元,啥都没坐到.

      中华航空  China Airlines

      很多人误以为China Airlines是中国国航,其实国航是Air China。以前华航都是林志玲姐姐代言的,志玲姐姐嗲嗲地说声-中华航空,有你真好。那感觉,你懂的。而且好喜欢CI的机身涂装,好雅致好中国的梅花,而且那些都是手绘的,每架飞机都不一样,原因就是华航对机器喷绘的涂装不是很满意。去年心血来潮地飞了次香港-台北-悉尼,实话比较让人失望,其实也许是自己期望太高,并没有什么特色,吃的东西也很少,唯一比较特别的是ci的330坐位后面有个小的化妆镜,对于女生可能比较方便,男生就当照妖镜来用吧。而且台北机场那个破啊,很像中国一个中等城市5-10年前的机场。

      Thank you for sharing your experience.
      I personally believe many airlines would look at main land China passengers differently.  I believe it might have something to do with the way some people from mainland China treating people in the service or hospitality industry.  There were countless occasions during my travel in Europe, the locals mistaken me as a Japanese nationals.  I have also read many frequent Chinese travelers wrote that foreigners tend to mistaken those polite Chinese as Japanese.  It might be a stereotype many foreigners have on Chinese that we are often impolite to people in the airline or hospitality industry.  It might be evident with the level of service provided my Emirates on their service to China and other countries.  
      I shall also do a quick summary of the experience I had with all the airlines I took in the past.  

      JAL (JL)
      I should start with JL, it was the first time I’ve ever fly on a plane.  I was little bit scared, given in China at the time; reports of plane crashes and my lack of knowledge in the area of Civil aviation were to blame for this fear.  Back in 1995, there were very few aero bridges available in PEK, I still remember the excitement and fear while I was on the bus leaving from the terminal to the plane.  The bus past quite few dirty looking small planes (I think most belonged to a Chinese carriers since I remember I can read the writing on the plane) and hoping it is not one of those.  The bus finally came to a halt next to a very clean big Jumb.  I later learnt that was the 747.  Somehow, out seats was on the upper level (JAL had economy class on the upper level).  I was only 12 at the time and I was travelling with my mother, the large number of baggage created huge problems for us.  I remember the friendly Japanese ground crew helped us moving our carry on baggage onto the plane.  We probably had about 7 or 8 items, there is no way we could take that many carry on baggage onto a plane now days.   
      As the plane moving away from the terminals, Japanese ground crew also waved good bye to the plane.  I actually thought this is a good airline.  I didn’t remember too much about its in flight service apart from that we had a dinner on the plane and when I asked for wines, the FA refused due to my age.  
      Due to the number of baggage we had at the time, we were the last to getting off the plane.  NRT appeared to be so much bigger then PEK, I don’t think my mother had too much idea where we were going.  After about 10 minutes, a friendly Japanese ground staff stopped us.  It appears she was suggesting we had too many carry on.  My mother used her limited English to trying to tell her we do not want to check-in any additional baggage.  The standoff continually until another male Japanese airport staff arrived.  He spoke faultless Chinese, the first issue of communication was resolved.  He repeated the message other Japanese airport staffs tried to pass on to us earlier, and my mother’s reply was simple.  That is not to check-in anything because we don’t have the extra money.  He was somewhat surprised with my mother’s comments; he replied instantly that JL will not place any extra charges on these check-in bags.  He helped us to carry everything to the check-in counter, and walked us off to the boarding gate.  He stayed there until our plane started boarding.  I was very impress with the services provided by JAL ground staffs and NRT’s staffs.  
      The flight from NRT to SYD was uneven apart from the bad delay prior landing in SYD due to poor weather.  I can recall the FA present a plane model to me as gift and sets of playing card.  
      Years later, I used JL again from SYD to PEK via KIX.  We experience great Japanese service again, only this time we were lucky enough to spend a night in KIX, all paid for by JL.  I can recall KIX airport hotel was a 5 star hotel, I had an excellent view of a bay outside the airport.  We had DC-10 from KIX to PEK, a different experience.  Although it has been over 10 years since my last experience on JL, I would not hesitate to recommend JL to anyone who is seeking friendly services.  JL had some terrible accident before early 1990s, however, I do believe it has no fatal accident for many years.  Many in the industry believe it is one of the safest airline in the world.  I am very hopeful the airline will regain its formal glory and become a power house in East Asia.

      我查了,mel飞hong Kong才99,来回198,税才100,但是不知道付款的时候就变成560多了??什么原因呢?
