Dear Sir/Madam

I am a graduate from The University of Adelaide in Master ofCommerce (Accounting), currently seeking for an Accounting-related contracted or full-time job. I have been in Australia for almost 9 years and am writing this letter to express my enthusiasm in applying for a position in your organization.

I believe I am well eligible for the position, as not only I have experience in the bookkeeping/accounting area for 3 years, but also during my role as a Bookkeeper in The Friends of Heysen Trial, which is a walking club, I have gained a good extent of experience in regard to MYOB that encompasses bank reconciliation, recording various entries(sales, expenses, invoices, double entry and etc.), preparing weekly/monthly reports, reconciliation of ledger accounts, plus using EXCEL and Word Processor. In addition, duties associated with processing financial records such as invoices, receipts, sales sheets, and petty cash paying account also play a major part. Moreover, I have been  practicing my problem-solving ability assisted by the boss with various methods, which are adjustable according to certain circumstances. A sense of strong responsibility, multi-tasking skilland interpersonal skill has been cultivated and enhanced through my part-time occupation as an casual IELTS assistance asstated in the resume, developing progressively in response to the competence in fulfilling future tasks in your group. Albeit I may not be the smartest person,I will endeavour to contribute what I have with the willingnessto learn.

As I embark on the accounting career, noticing the offered potential position that fits my interest well in pursuit of my goal in the relevant areas,to me, this arouses a critical opportunity where the continuing enrichment of experience and enhancement of accounting/business skills can be feasible in the midst of  participation in your group. Besides, working as a part time bookkeeper in a not-for profit organization named “The Friends of Heysen Trail”for 3 years has systematically strengthened my competence by practicing generating fresh ideas and offering practical real-life problem solving, which would be attributable to your group’s success. Moreover, I am highly motivated and reliable with excellent health and pleasant personality, plus the ability to work under high pressure and time limitation incorporated in the workplace. Furthermore, proficiency in both Chinese (Mandarin/Cantonese) and English skills can be a bonus in a multicultural society and I always stand poised to rise to new challenges.

Lastly, I am readily available and holding the work permit. Appreciation will be highly regarded if you could arrange an interview for me some time for getting to know more about the organization and grasping an opportunity to have a conversation with you in depth further. Please e-mail me through “[email protected] or leave your messages in the forum if you are interested. Thank you very much for your concern, I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Yours Sincerely

Michael

PS: If you are interested, I will also send my resume and a letter of recommendation from my boss through E-mail to you.

Little suggestion on your cover letter, don't mention stuff such as working permit, bridging visa and PR, 95% of the employer don't give a shit to those things, and you actually got less chance to be process to the first round interview.

And your coverletter can be much shorter,  otherwise people won't finish reading this before throw it to a bin. Short, but covering all key points, that's a good one.

no, as this is a voluntary job and all the staffs are volunteers, there is no restrictive policy on the staff turnovers.   Plus the boss who oversees several international students like what I am used to be is a very nice person, and he is willing to write a letter of assessment on our performance as a guidance to other potential employers. In addition, he is happy to see what we have learned and grown through the experience in this workplace and  hopes us to achieve what we are longing for in the future.
