固定表达through the grapevine，直意是“顺着葡萄藤来的”，在口语中，经常用来表示那些获得那些还没有经过官方发布的、小道消息，只是人与人之间口口相传的流言蜚语。英文的解释是，“The informal transmission of information, gossip, or rumor from person to person.”。
