People are always wondering what happiness is and how to achieve happiness, however, more often than not, those who ask the questions have already been happy at least to a certain extent, just like an old Chinese saying “not enjoy the happy life one lives”, which means that men cannot be satisfied with their gains.
Happiness is viewed by some people as being more essential for them than their lives, and even they will spend their whole lifetime on pursuing true happiness that they cherish all the time. Also, it has been generally acknowledged that modern people would love to chase material possessions. Nevertheless, once they obtain what they want, they will feel nothing but in emptiness. In the meantime, such kind of vanity is being stronger than strong, which leads to losing the ego.
One cannot easily define the happiness for we fail to understand what our future is, and such is a fact that it is a dilemma for us whether or not we can enjoy the idiom - “a contented mind is a perpetual feast”. Furthermore, we should despise the notion that creature comfort is superior to everything, which is detrimental to our mental health. A case in point is that a college student felt inferior to his classmates due to his poor family and he was often bullied by other students, which consequently contributed to a tragedy that he became a cruel murderer.
Personally speaking, happiness does not come easily unless you have an idea of which kind of happiness you really want. Besides, once you set a goal of happiness, you should content yourself with it after you would have achieved the happiness. As such, you can be fully alive to touch such genuine happiness.
